  21. Terminal has changed a little..
  22. Running terminal you are immediately asked to provide a GSM providers
  23. phonenumber (or choose one from the list).
  24. To be honest.. the whole Terminal will be "re-done" for I'm not completely
  25. happy with it.. but it works!

  27. Added a very important and easy feature.. a Terminal.
  28. After choosing your destination you then have a new menu option "Terminal".
  29. Choosing this you will get the "Checkdetails" message again. If all details
  30. are correct you click on "OK". At that point your Workbench screen turns
  31. into a simple terminal screen with menu options.

  33. [Amiga]N = Insert GSM destination number
  34. [Amiga]M = Insert created SMS text.

  37. By using this terminal you can dial your GSM provider, if the "normal" way of
  38. AsmsC is not supported (in other words.. if your provider does not support
  39. the EMI protocol.) By choosing the menu option "Dial provider" you already
  40. get some pre-defined provider-numbers, if yours is not one of them, please
  41. contact your provider and ask for the Phonenumber to send SMS messages to,
  42. using Text.
  43. Normally you would send SMS messages this way, using Term, Ncomm or simular
  44. programs.
  45. If things are not clear, or you have problems.. please let me know.
  46. Also.. if you want to have an extra phonenumber added as default in the
  47. "Terminal dial" option, please let me know.

  56. After sending the SMS message the window closed immediately, without giving you
  57. the opportunity to view if the SMS-send was succesfull.

  73. - On some Amiga's the sending of the SMS message didn't proceed correctly.
  74.    This was due to the fact that the message was send to fast for the GSM provider
  75.    to translate and data wend missing.

  79.    Yep, even I had to create a Shareware version of AsmsC, considering the costs for testing
  80.    sms messages etc and the work done on it, I thought it would be fare to ask for a small
  81.    amount of money, thus ensuring the users to get updates frequently and expand the program
  82.    to have more options and perhaps let you send SMS messages through e.g. Internet or
  83.    be able to send SMS messages to Text - buzzers as well.
  84.    Current limitations:
  85.    - The Phonebook can only hold 5 records
  86.    - Printing the Phonebook has been disabled
  87.    - Saving Customized setting has been disabled
  88.    - Pre-defined message texts has been disabled

  95.    Together with a Euro-cheque equilevant to around Fl 20,= (e.g. DM20 or

  108. After several [positive] response throughout Europe, I've now completely
  109. rewritten Asms into AsmsC. Enabling also other people in different countries
  110. to send SMS messages to Mobile Phones.

  113. This program enables persons to send SMS message to Mobile phones.
  114. It's finally into version 1.2 wich adds some nice handy features.
  115.  
  116. No documents (except for this readme) are including since it's all straight forward easy..
  117.  
  118. At startup you will see a window that allows you to fill-in the phone number
  119. of the (Mobile) person you want to send the message to.
  120. You can either type in a number or use the arrow down button to choose from a
  121. Phonebook entry.
  122.  
  123. Then you can (if you wish) insert a recepients number. The person receiving
  124. the message will know who send it..
  125.  
  126. The Pull down menus allow you to change various setting. They all come with
  127. Help buttons, so I won't go into them here. Please note that you have to
  128. change the phonenumber for your GSM provider in the pull-down menus and set
  129. them to your providers number. The one at default is for use ONLY in
  130. The Netherlands. (ask your GSM provider for the number you should use)
  131.  
  132. Off course do not forget to change the message text. Remember only
  133. 160 characters possible with SMS, you will be notified if you exceed
  134. the 160 characters. (Future version might allow you to go to >500 characters,
  135. depending on your provider)

  137. If you're done press the Phone button that is now enabled. You will then see
  138. all the details you have entered. If any of these are not to your
  139. satisfaction, choose Cancel to change them.

  141. - PHONEBOOK
  142. You can add new records with the "NEW"-button.
  143. Delete records with the "DELETE"-button.
  144. Save your Phonebook with the "SAVE"-button.
  145. Print the Phonebook with the "PRINT"-button
  146.  
  147. To Edit a record in the Phonebook, simply click on the name in the view window and you
  148. can instantly change the Name, Number and comments in the appropiate rectangles.
  149. Pressing enter will change them immediatly.

  151. Click on OK if you are done, or Reload to load the last saved version..

  154. INSTALLATION
  155. - As off version 1.3 the Speech option has been implemented. You need the narrator.device
  156.   to be able to use this option. If no narrator.device can be found in the DEVS: directory
  157.   AsmsC will simply not run. (if speech option is turned on)
  158. - Make sure you have the included fonts installed.
  159. - Keep the Data directory save. Any files missing and the program will simply
  160.   not run.

  173. Known bugs/problems:

  175. - Only one.. Sometimes you can have some troubles with the dialling part,
  176. due to line-interference etc... Ifso Note that you can always exit the
  177. Dialling window by pressing the close button in case you are having
  178. troubles. This will end the connection and bring you back into
  179. the main window.

  184. - the phone number from other providers (e.g. Libertel for Holland, Vodafone
  185. for the UK) what can handle the SMS messages.
